BUL FC have bolstered their defensive ranks with the acquisition of experienced centre-back Kelvin Tah Barni, who has signed a two-year deal after completing a switch from NEC Football Club.
The 26-year-old, well-travelled in Ugandan topflight football, has previously donned the jerseys of Nyamityobola, Kyetume, and NEC FC. His arrival is seen as a major boost for the Eastern Giants as they gear up for another competitive Uganda Premier League campaign.
Brimming with enthusiasm after putting pen to paper, Barni declared to the club media:
“I am excited to join this big team, I am here to work hard and also help this great team achieve its targets. I want to win trophies with BUL FC, including the Uganda Premier League, and I am confident that with the squad available here, we shall make it.”
Head coach Abbey Kikomeko was equally upbeat about the deal, stressing that Barni’s qualities made him the right man to strengthen the backline.
“After losing one of my defenders at the end of last season, I looked around for whom to replace him, and Barni was the perfect match. His experience, aggressiveness, strength, and character are much needed in our defence. We warmly welcome him at the club,” he stated.
Barni now joins a BUL FC side hungry for silverware, and his addition underlines the club’s ambition to challenge on all fronts in the new season.
