Uganda Premier League outfit BUL FC have bolstered their attacking options with the acquisition of teenage sensation Simon Achidi, who has penned a three-year deal that will keep him at the Eastern Giants until 2028.
The 19-year-old, who is still completing his studies at Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA), could hardly hide his excitement after sealing the move, calling it a lifelong ambition fulfilled.
“I thank God because this is a dream come true,” Achidi expressed to the club moments after signing. “I have always dreamt of playing top-flight football, and here I am. I love this team, and I am here to achieve big goals with the club.”
Achidi’s football journey traces back to Abafra Soccer Academy in Kiryandongo before he moved to Erima Soccer Academy and later joined JIPRA. His breakout moment came during the 2025 USSSA games in Ngora, where his three-goal haul caught the eye of BUL’s scouting team.

Head coach Abbey Kikomeko, a staunch advocate of youth development, believes Achidi has the right tools to thrive at the club.
“Our main goal is to develop younger players, and he joins a number of them from JIPRA, our main feeder school,” Kikomeko noted. “Achidi is a young, promising, and talented player. I believe his character and attitude will help him suit well in our team.”
Achidi becomes BUL’s fourth signing of the current window, joining the ranks of last season’s FUFA Big League top scorer Lawrence Kambugu from Ntugasaze, defender Kevin Tah Barni from NEC, and goalkeeper Farouk Yawe from Kitara.
With Achidi’s arrival, the Eastern Giants continue to signal their intent to build a youthful, vibrant squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming season.
