Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) has confirmed the departure of long-serving midfielder and captain, Julius Poloto, bringing the curtain down on a decade-long spell that has seen him rise from the academy to the senior team’s leadership.
Poloto, who joined the club as a promising youngster, has been an integral part of KCCA’s most successful years in recent history.
His glittering career with the Kasasiro Boys includes two Uganda Premier League titles, lifted in 2017 and 2019, when the club dominated Ugandan football. Beyond league success, he played a pivotal role in KCCA’s domestic cup triumphs, helping secure back-to-back Uganda Cup victories in 2017 and 2018.

In the wider regional setting, Poloto was part of the historic squad that clinched the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2019, cementing KCCA’s place among the region’s football giants. He also added the FUFA Super 8 crown in 2018, alongside four FUFA Super Cup titles in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Despite these achievements, Poloto’s journey has not been without setbacks. The last few seasons have been hampered by persistent injuries, limiting his influence on the pitch and eventually contributing to his decision to part ways with the club.
His exit marks the end of an era for KCCA FC, where he was not just a player but a symbol of loyalty and resilience. Fans will remember him as a dedicated captain who led by example, often battling through adversity for the badge.
Reports have linked him to joining newly promoted Uganda Premier League side UPPC FC, where he’s set to link up with former manager, Abdallah Mubiru.
