The curtain rises on the 2025/26 FUFA Big League season Sunday, September 28, with football fever set to sweep across Uganda as all 16 clubs launch their campaigns in simultaneous action.

In Zombo, Paidha Black Angels SC will look to ignite their promotion charge when they square off with newcomers Nebbi Central FC at the historic Bar Okoro Stadium. Elsewhere in Lira, Blacks Power FC welcome traditional rivals Onduparaka FC to the Ebenezer University Ground, a clash expected to draw huge local support.

At the Mityana Ssaza Ground, debutants Ntugasaze FC lock horns with Kiyinda Boys FC, while Kampala’s Catda FC begin their journey at the Bugolobi Coffee Grounds against the seasoned Kigezi Homeboyz FC.

Eastern Uganda won’t be left out of the opening buzz. Iganga United FC host neighbors Mbale Heroes FC at Iganga Ssaza, while at the Wakisha Recreation Ground, Wakiso Giants FC aim to stamp authority against league debutants Young Elephant FC. Down in Ntungamo, Kaaro Karungi FC clash with Bunyaruguru United FC, and at the Mbale City Stadium, Kataka FC are set for a testing duel against Soltilo Bright Stars FC. Kick-off for all fixtures is 4:00 pm.

The season will also spread across additional FUFA-approved venues, including Luzira’s Maroons Stadium, Green Light Stadium in Arua, Luo Ground in Nebbi, Kasese’s Nyamambuka Play Ground, Gayaza’s Bethrem City Play Ground, and the Kigezi Al Madina Ground, ensuring the competition reaches every corner of the nation.

Last term, Calvary FC Midigo blazed their way to the title, earning a deserved ticket to the Uganda Premier League. Their success has now set the pace for this year’s hopefuls, as 16 determined sides prepare for a grueling race toward top-flight glory.
