New York Red Bull II have confirmed that midfielder Ibrahim Kasule will spend the 2026 campaign on loan at MLS NEXT Pro newcomers Connecticut United FC, marking a fresh chapter in the Ugandan’s rapidly rising career. Kasule departs New York as one of the most influential players in the club’s short history.

Across three seasons, he featured 64 times, racking up an impressive 28 goals and 11 assists. Those numbers have cemented his status as Red Bull New York II’s all-time leading scorer, a record he underlined in spectacular fashion last year when he netted his first MLS NEXT Pro hat trick in a thrilling 5-2 victory over Crown Legacy FC on June 4, a performance that earned him Matchweek 13 honors.

The attacking midfielder wasted little time announcing himself after joining the club. In his debut season, Kasule was named to the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and collected Player of the Month accolades in July 2023 and March 2024. His purple patch midway through the 2023 season saw him score seven goals in seven consecutive matches between June 6 and July 31, a streak that stands among the longest in franchise history. His MLS NEXT Pro journey began on April 9, 2023, against Columbus Crew 2.

Kasule’s consistent excellence at the second-team level also opened the door to senior football. He made his Red Bull New York first-team debut on August 31, 2023, featuring against the New England Revolution.

Before moving stateside, the Buikwe-born midfielder plied his trade in the Uganda Premier League with Wakiso Giants FC during the 2022 season. There, he contributed five goals and six assists and was rewarded with the league’s Player of the Month award for October 2022.

On the international stage, Kasule has begun to make his mark with the Uganda Cranes. He has earned two senior caps during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign, making his national team debut on October 13, 2023, in a fixture against Algeria.
