Kitara Football Club has secured a major financial lift after inking a UGX 100 million shirt sponsorship agreement with sugar producers Kinyara Sugar Ltd, ushering in a new era of corporate partnership for the Uganda Premier League outfit.
The Hoima-based side had previously been bankrolled by Jonard Conglomerate Investment Limited (JCIL), whose UGX 200 million, two-year deal concluded earlier this year. With Kinyara stepping into the fold, the Royals now look set to deepen their commercial footprint while enhancing their competitive edge.
Under the fresh arrangement, Kinyara’s emblem will occupy prime space on Kitara’s training kits and official match jerseys throughout the season. The deal stretches far beyond shirt branding, granting the sugar company extensive promotional leverage at home fixtures, co-branded press engagements, and interactive fan initiatives across Bunyoro and beyond.

Kitara FC CEO, Atugonza Joshua, hailed the development as a continuation of a fruitful relationship that has already delivered silverware.
“This partnership not only strengthens our financial base but also deepens our connection with fans and the community,” Atugonza remarked, underscoring Kinyara’s pivotal role in the 2023/24 season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph.
The Royals kicked off their league campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 stalemate against KCCA in Hoima. Their next test is a high-stakes clash with defending champions Vipers at the refurbished Namboole Stadium this Saturday, a fixture set to test both the team’s resilience and the club’s renewed ambitions under fresh sponsorship backing.
