Mugalu first arrived at NEC in 2023 from Arua Hill SC on a two-year deal and quickly adapted to life under head coach Hussein Mbalangu.

Over the past two StarTimes Uganda Premier League seasons, he has featured in 46 matches, chipping in with 11 vital goals and 10 assists, while becoming a dependable presence on the right wing.

Known for his pace, vision, and precision crossing, the right-footed playmaker has played a pivotal role in several key fixtures, delivering when the team needed him most.

His ability to unlock stubborn defenses and his tireless work rate have earned him multiple Man of the Match awards since his debut season.
