Uganda Premier League side NEC FC has moved swiftly to appoint Kaddu Badru Mukasa as their new head coach, following the club’s decision to part ways with Hussein Mbalangu.
Kaddu, who has recently impressed with Express FC, where he masterminded a 4-1 triumph over Mbarara City at Nakivubo Stadium on Thursday, brings fresh energy and experience to the Bugolobi-based outfit.
He takes over from Mbalangu, who was dismissed on Wednesday. The former coach had been at the helm since June 2023 but was suspended last month amid allegations of “professional and ethical misconduct,” before the club finalized their decision to release him.
Despite guiding NEC to a commendable second-place finish in last season’s league campaign, the club opted for a leadership shake-up this term.

Kaddu, a CAF A licensed coach, has committed to a three-year deal with NEC FC. He previously served at KCCA FC, where he worked under the tutelage of renowned coach Mike Mutebi, gaining valuable experience that the club hopes will now translate into results.
Currently sitting 10th in the league with four points from as many matches, NEC will be eager to turn their fortunes around when they host BUL FC at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, this Saturday.
