Ugandan midfield enforcer Ronald Ssekiganda marked his first goal for APR FC in style, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
In a tense Rwanda Premier League clash at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Sunday, Ssekiganda’s 19th-minute effort proved the difference, handing APR a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over a stubborn Mukura side.

Known more for his defensive grit than his goal-scoring flair, Ssekiganda popped up with the decisive strike after Mukura’s goalkeeper, fellow Ugandan Nicholas Ssebwato, failed to deal cleanly with a loose ball, allowing APR to pounce.
The goal sent the home crowd into raptures and ultimately sealed a narrow but vital win once the final whistle blew.
Ssekiganda wasn’t alone in flying the Ugandan flag high, Hakim Kiwanuka and Denis Omedi also featured prominently for the reigning champions. Yet it was the midfielder’s rare finish that stole the spotlight and ensured APR’s perfect start to the new campaign continued.

The victory keeps APR’s 100% record intact, with two wins from as many matches. Despite sitting 6th on the table with six points, they have two games in hand over early leaders Police FC, who top the standings with 12 points from four outings.
Next on APR’s schedule is another key test as they prepare to lock horns with Kiyovu on Saturday, October 25, 2025, a match that could see Ssekiganda and company continue their steady march toward the summit.
