Ugandan stars shine abroad: Ikpeazu, Kasule and Ssenyonjo headline weekend action

Ugandan footballers plying their trade across different leagues delivered notable performances over the weekend, with several players finding the back of the net while others played key roles for their respective clubs.

In the Scottish Championship, forward Uche Ikpeazu was on target for Ross County as they secured a comfortable 2–0 victory over Raith Rovers. The powerful striker once again demonstrated his attacking presence, helping his side collect maximum points.

Across the Atlantic in the United States, talented midfielder Ibrahim Kasule continued his fine form by scoring for Connecticut United in their 3–1 triumph against FC Cincinnati 2 in the MLS Next Pro.

Meanwhile in Kenya, young forward Samuel Ssenyonjo stole the headlines with a superb brace to inspire AFC Leopards to an emphatic 5–1 victory over Shabana FC in the Kenyan Premier League.

Defender Aziz Kayondo played the entire match for Slovan Liberec, although his side suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Hradec Králové in the Czech First League.

In Tanzania, attacking midfielder Allan Okello made a second-half appearance for Young Africans S.C. as they battled to a goalless stalemate with fierce rivals Simba S.C. in the heated Kariakoo Derby in the Tanzanian Premier League.

Creative playmaker Travis Mutyaba put in a full shift for CS Sfaxien, helping the Tunisian outfit secure a slim 1–0 win over AS Gabès in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

In England, defender Toby Sibbick played the entire match for Burton Albion, but they fell to a heavy 3–0 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers in EFL League One.

Elsewhere, centre-back Bevis Mugabi featured for 17 minutes as Carlisle United edged Eastleigh F.C. 2–1 in England’s lower divisions.

In Finland, attacker Calvin Kabuye played 75 minutes for KuPS, though they endured a difficult outing in a 5–0 defeat to AC Oulu.

Midfielder Alhassan Baba made a brief appearance off the bench for FCSB, who defeated UTA Arad 4–2 in the Romanian Liga I.

Ugandan forward Rogers Mato was an unused substitute for Heart of Midlothian F.C. as they claimed a narrow 1–0 win over Aberdeen F.C. in the Scottish Premiership. The match was notably attended by legendary former Manchester United F.C. manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

In Rwanda, midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda and forward Denis Omedi both featured for APR FC as they secured a 2–1 victory against Gorilla FC in the Rwanda Premier League.

From Europe to Africa and North America, Ugandan players once again showcased their growing influence on the global stage, delivering decisive moments and strong performances for their clubs across multiple competitions.
