BUL FC will be determined to finally end a frustrating run against Mbarara City when the two sides clash at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The Jinja-based outfit has struggled to overcome the Ankole Lions in recent meetings and heads into the contest eager to secure a first victory over the side in four years.
Alex Isabirye’s charges last tasted success against Mbarara City in 2021, edging the encounter 1-0 courtesy of Ibrahim Nsimbe’s decisive strike. Since that triumph, however, the tide has turned, with BUL failing to register another win in their subsequent meetings.
Across the six encounters that followed, Mbarara City have largely held the upper hand, including a convincing 2-0 victory in 2024 inspired by a brace from forward Seiri Arigumaho.

Interestingly, Arigumaho now finds himself on the opposite side, having since joined BUL. The attacker will face his former employers for the first time. Together with Karim Ndugwa, Jerome Kiirya, and the rest of the BUL attack, he will deliver the goals that could finally break the long-standing jinx.
In the league standings, BUL currently sit eighth with 29 points, while Mbarara City remain deep in relegation trouble with just 13 points collected so far.
The earlier meeting between the two sides this season ended level, with Ian Amanya cancelling out Arigumaho’s opener to secure a 1-1 draw for BUL.
In other Uganda Premier League fixtures, Kitara will host Buhimba United Saints at the newly built Hoima City Stadium, while NEC FC travel to Kamwokya to take on Police FC at the Kiira Road Police Arena.
