NEC FC will look to stretch their impressive unbeaten streak in 2026 when they welcome UPDF FC in one of four fixtures scheduled in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.
The Bugolobi-based outfit has shown remarkable resilience in recent weeks, having avoided defeat since their 2-1 loss to KCCA FC back in December. Since that setback, NEC have put together a solid run of seven league matches without defeat, while also recording two positive results in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Confidence in the camp will be high heading into the encounter, especially after NEC defeated the same opponents 2-0 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup just last week.
Historically, the Bugolobi side have also enjoyed the upper hand in meetings with the army team and remain unbeaten in all previous encounters.

However, head coach Badru Kaddu will be forced to make adjustments to his lineup after confirming that key midfielder Joseph Sseremba and forward Richard Basangwa are sidelined with injuries.
Despite the setbacks, Kaddu remains optimistic that the players available can step up and deliver the desired result.
“The target is to keep the run going and we want to win,” said Kaddu.
NEC currently sit seventh on the league table with 24 points, while UPDF continue to struggle near the bottom with just 12 points collected so far this season.
With Basangwa unavailable, new signing Samuel Ssekamatte could be handed his debut for NEC, coincidentally against his immediate former employers.
