Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC will be desperate to turn the tide when they welcome UPDF FC to Nakivubo Stadium, aiming to snap a frustrating run of four consecutive draws at the start of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.
Alex Isabirye’s men have endured a sluggish opening campaign, firing blanks in key moments and finding the back of the net only twice in as many games against BUL, Express, NEC, and Lugazi. The tax collectors’ attacking department, spearheaded by captain Nelson Ssenkatuka, will need to rediscover its sharpness if URA are to finally claim their first three points of the season.
UPDF, on the other hand, have shown mixed form in their opening fixtures, winning once, losing once, and drawing once, leaving them a point adrift of their hosts. Despite their inconsistency, the army side will fancy their chances of upsetting a URA outfit still searching for rhythm.

History, however, tilts in URA’s favor. The taxmen have dominated this fixture over the years, suffering defeat just twice in their last 16 league meetings with UPDF (winning nine and drawing five). In the previous season’s encounter, goals from Moses Aliro and Abraham Tusubira earned URA a 2–1 victory, while Faridi Rashid netted the consolation for the soldiers.
With both teams seeking momentum, Thursday’s clash promises a fascinating tactical battle at Nakivubo.
