Vipers SC will be eager to rediscover their winning touch when they welcome Lugazi FC to St. Maryโs Stadium, Kitende, after consecutive draws slowed their momentum at the summit of the Uganda Premier League.
The Venoms have seen their once comfortable advantage shrink to just two points following back-to-back stalemates. Their most recent setback came at home against NEC FC, a result that has intensified the pressure on the reigning champions ahead of this crucial encounter.
Victory on home soil will therefore be a priority for Vipers as they attempt to steady their title charge and maintain control of the standings. Matters could become even more tense depending on earlier results, with Kitara FC scheduled to face Entebbe UPPC earlier in the day.
A positive result for Kitara could temporarily push them to the top before kickoff in Kitende, raising the stakes for the Venoms under the floodlights.

When the two sides last met in Najjembe, Vipers emerged with a narrow 2-1 victory. Goals from Yunus Sentamu and Usama Arafat secured the win, while Ashraf Mulindi pulled one back for Lugazi.
Lugazi, however, arrive in encouraging form and with renewed belief. The side nicknamed โThe Leadersโ recently progressed in the Stanbic Uganda Cup after defeating Police FC, a result that followed a league victory over UPDF FC.
Those positive results lifted them to 10th place on the table with 18 points, providing a morale boost ahead of the daunting trip to Kitende.
In other fixtures scheduled for the same day, BUL will make the journey to Kiira Road to take on Police, while NEC will host UPDF at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
