URA FC will be eager to finally halt a frustrating run of results when they host Mbarara City FC in the Uganda Premier League at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.
The Tax Collectors have endured a difficult spell in the league, going nine consecutive matches without victory. Their last triumph came on November 26 when they dismantled Buhimba United Saints 7–3 at the same venue.
Since that emphatic win, URA’s form has dipped significantly, with the side registering five defeats and four draws during that stretch.

Remarkably, the high-scoring win over Buhimba remains only their second league victory of the campaign. The four-time champions now find themselves in unfamiliar territory, battling to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
Head coach Hussein Mbalangu, who was brought in to stabilise the team, is still searching for his first league victory since taking charge. Despite the challenging run, the tactician remains optimistic ahead of the clash.
“I know we have not won a league game since we came but I am confident of the victory against Mbarara City,” he told the club news.
URA strengthened their squad during the recent transfer window, bringing in experienced players including Disan Galiwango, Moses Waiswa, Rahmat Ssenfuka and striker Derrick Kakooza.
Mbalangu believes the additions will provide the quality and leadership needed to turn the team’s fortunes around.
“They are good players and will add a lot to us in each department,” he added.

URA head into the fixture sitting 13th on the league table with 18 points, level with Mbarara City, who currently sit above them due to a superior head-to-head record after claiming a narrow 1–0 victory in the reverse fixture played in Kamwenge earlier this season.
Meanwhile, under the Nakivubo floodlights later the same evening, Express FC will face Maroons FC in another league encounter scheduled for 8pm.
