South Sudan Premier League moneybags Jamus SC have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of experienced right-back Atendele Geriga, sealing his signature on a two-year contract.
The Ugandan international defender makes the move to Juba from Uganda Premier League side NEC FC, bringing with him valuable top-flight and regional experience as Jamus SC continue to reinforce their roster ahead of upcoming competitions.
The club officially announced Geriga’s arrival via their verified social media channels, expressing optimism over what he adds to the team’s defensive unit:
“The management of the club is delighted to announce the official signing of international right back Atendele Mawa. The player joins the team on a two-season contract, arriving from the Ugandan Premier League. This signing is a strategic move to bolster our defence options with international experience and clinical pace.”
Jamus SC further highlighted the qualities that made Atendele a priority target in the transfer market, underlining his attacking threat from the right flank:
“Mawa widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents, known for his technical flair and his ability to create decisive moments on the flanks.”
Geriga boasts an impressive domestic résumé, having previously featured for Arua Hill SC, Onduparaka FC, Wakiso Giants FC, and most recently NEC FC, where his consistency and dynamism earned him recognition as one of the league’s reliable full-backs.
He now joins a Jamus SC squad that already includes several familiar faces from Ugandan and regional football circles, such as Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Ezra Bida, Richard Anyama, Rashid Anyama, and Jude Ssemugabi.
With the addition of Geriga, Jamus SC signal their intent to compete with renewed defensive solidity and increased width, as the club continues to assemble a team capable of challenging at the highest level in South Sudanese football.
