Uganda Premier League side Police FC have added valuable experience to their ranks after completing the signings of former Vipers SC players Deus Bukenya and Richard Matovu ahead of the new campaign.
Bukenya, who has enjoyed spells both at home and abroad, returns to the Ugandan topflight following a stint in Botswana. The versatile defender-midfielder has penned a two-year deal with the Cops, bringing with him the ability to operate across central defence, right-back, and midfield roles.
Matovu, meanwhile, arrives directly from league champions Vipers SC, offering Police a reliable option at left-back. His acquisition adds depth and balance to the backline as the club looks to improve on last season’s 11th-place finish with 36 points.

Confirming Bukenya’s signing, Police FC announced on their social media pages:
“We’re excited to confirm the arrival of defender Deus Bukenya on a 2-year deal. Renowned for his pinpoint diagonal passes, Bukenya joins us from Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar. He previously featured for Express & Prisons XI in Botswana.”
The experienced duo is expected to inject leadership and stability into a squad that struggled for consistency last season.
In addition to the two, Police are quietly strengthening elsewhere, having already secured Said Kyeyune from Express FC and former SC Villa striker Charles Bbaale, though the club is yet to officially unveil them.
