Kenyan Premier League heavyweights Nairobi United Football Club have further underlined their ambition with the acquisition of Ugandan playmaker Titus “Tito” Ssematimba, continuing an aggressive transfer strategy aimed at strengthening an already competitive squad.
The attacking midfielder arrives from Uganda’s NEC Football Club, following in the footsteps of his compatriot and former teammate Mustafa Kizza, who completed his move to the Nairobi-based side just a week earlier. The pair now reunite in Kenya as Nairobi United continue to cast their recruitment net across the region.

Ssematimba was formally presented to fans and the media during a vibrant unveiling ceremony held in Nairobi City on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was accompanied by his agent, Denis Namanya, as the club confirmed the deal.
At his new home, Ssematimba will wear the number 8 jersey at the “one city, one dream, one champion” club. Renowned for his technical ability and intelligence in possession, the skilful midfielder is expected to inject creativity into Nairobi United’s engine room. His arrival adds depth and variety to the central midfield, offering vision, precise ball distribution, inventive playmaking and tactical awareness in covering spaces.

Beyond Ssematimba’s signing, Nairobi United have also bolstered their defensive options by securing the services of central defender Steve Biko Omollo from fellow Kenyan Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks Football Club, further strengthening their spine.
The flurry of signings comes on the back of an impressive campaign for Nairobi United, who enjoyed a historic milestone by qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup at the first attempt. With continued heavy investment and strategic recruitment, the club has made its intentions clear as it targets sustained domestic dominance and continental success.
