Ivan Ahimbisibwe produced a clinical two–goal performance as Kampala Capital City Authority FC (KCCA) secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints FC in a Uganda Premier League clash at Royals Park in Butema, Hoima.
The forward struck once in each half to guide the Kasasiro Boys to an important away triumph, taking his league tally to nine goals for the campaign. That haul now places him joint top of the scoring charts alongside Ambrose Kigozi of Entebbe UPPC FC.
KCCA’s breakthrough came after an intelligent attacking move involving Joel Sserunjogi and Saidi Mayanja. Sserunjogi delivered a long pass forward which Mayanja controlled well before setting up Ahimbisibwe, who finished confidently to give the visitors the lead.

The former URA FC striker later doubled the advantage in the second half. After being picked out by Bright Anukani, Ahimbisibwe kept his composure and rifled his effort into the roof of the net to seal the result.
KCCA also handed a debut to new signing Kennedy Muserero, who nearly marked the occasion with a goal. The attacker managed to evade his marker before firing a shot, but his attempt went straight at Buhimba goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba.
At the other end, KCCA shot-stopper Mutwalibi Mugolofa was called into action, producing important saves to deny efforts from Swadik Moro and Anwar Ntege.
The victory continues a resurgence for the Lugogo-based side, who began the second round with a 3-1 loss to NEC FC but have since bounced back with successive wins, including a recent 2-1 triumph over BUL FC.
It also provides relief for co-coaches Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo, whose team recently progressed to the Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after eliminating Mbarara City FC.
The result lifts KCCA to second place on the table with 36 points from 18 matches, just two behind leaders Vipers SC, who face Lugazi FC at Kitende on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Buhimba remain deep in the relegation fight. The Hoima-based side sits third from bottom with 15 points, three above UPDF FC, who are currently in the drop zone and still have a game in hand.
KCCA will return to action on March 6 when they host Police FC at Lugogo, while Buhimba United Saints travel to Luzira to face Maroons FC on March 7.
