Police FC forward Charles Bbaale has struck a confident tone ahead of their highly anticipated league clash against SC Villa, insisting the Cops have what it takes to overcome their recent dip in form.
The Kira Road Police Arena will host the crucial encounter as Police look to steady their season against a Villa side still pushing to stay within touching distance of the league title race.
For Police FC, the fixture carries extra significance. The side enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign but has recently stumbled, collecting just one point from their last three matches. That run has seen them slip to sixth place on the table with 32 points from 19 games.
Despite the recent struggles, Bbaale believes the team has prepared well and is ready to rediscover the form that made them one of the early pace-setters.
“We have prepared for the game well. We need a win to end the poor run,” Bbaale told the club media.
“Yes, sometimes the results are bad, but you don’t have to lose hope. At this moment, we need to remember that we are the same players who won games in the opening round, so we need to keep positive.”

The forward, who will be facing his former club, expects a demanding contest but remains convinced Police FC understand exactly how to approach the challenge posed by the record champions.
“SC Villa is a big club, but we know how to manage them,” Bbaale added. “I expect a good game because we are going to face a side that is competing for the trophy. We need to end the poor run by beating SC Villa so that we can start a positive momentum.”
Police FC’s technical team has spent the week reminding the players of the qualities that propelled them into the league’s upper tier earlier in the season, hoping that confidence can translate into a return to winning ways.
Much of the attacking responsibility could fall on Bbaale, whose familiarity with Villa may prove valuable as Police attempt to break a recent scoring drought.
SC Villa, meanwhile, also come into the match searching for stability. The Jogoos have failed to secure victory in their last two outings, their match against Calvary was abandoned, while they settled for a draw against Express in the Kampala derby.
With Villa chasing silverware and Police eager to revive their campaign, the stage is set for a tense battle in Kira. A positive result for the hosts could reignite their momentum and push them back into contention among the league’s top sides.
