Disan Galiwango was among four players officially introduced by Uganda Revenue Authority FC during the mid-season transfer window as the club moved to reinforce its squad for the remainder of the campaign.

The experienced left back joined the Tax Collectors alongside Moses Waiswa, Derrick Kakooza and Rahmat Ssenfuka, all of whom were confirmed as new arrivals during the secondary registration period.

Galiwango, whose representation is handled by agent Simon Wasswa, is expected to compete for the left-back berth with Arthur Kiggundu, popularly known as “Bocca”.

His arrival follows a reshuffle in that department after URA sanctioned the temporary exits of Amis Bwangani, Shafiq Lugoloobi and Faisal Matovu, leaving space for reinforcement.

The defender returns to the Uganda Premier League having previously turned out for Vipers Sports Club, and he has already voiced enthusiasm about beginning a new chapter with the Tax Collectors.

“This is a new challenge I am ready for. I am extremely happy to join URA FC. This is a club with clear ambitions and a strong identity. I have come here ready to work hard, help the team improve, and give my very best for the badge. I believe my experience can help us achieve our targets this season and beyond.” Galiwango remarked.

Head coach Hussein Mbalangu believes the defender’s experience and winning mentality will be vital as the club looks to steady its performances.

“He (Galiwango) is a proven winner. He brings experience, professionalism, and a strong mentality into the squad. These are the qualities we need at this stage of the season to stabilize the team and push forward. His presence will be key as we work to turn performances into consistent results.” Mbalangu spoke of the new signing.

During the January transfer window, URA also oversaw a major squad clear-out, confirming the departure of eight players as the technical team reshaped the roster.

Those who exited the club include Laban Tibita, Living Kabon, Amis Bwangani, Nelson Senkatuka, Abraham Tusubira, Faisal Matovu, Nicholas Kabonge and Shafik Lugolobi, all of whom were deemed surplus to requirements as Mbalangu continues to reshape the squad.
