Ugandan forward Rogers Kassim Mato is enjoying a golden run of form, following up his recent international strike with a blistering performance in North Macedonia.
The 21-year-old delivered his first-ever senior hat-trick to inspire FK Vardar to a commanding 4-1 triumph over Arsimi at the City Stadium in the Macedonian First Football League.
Mato wasted no time making his mark, breaking the deadlock in the 9th minute, before doubling his tally six minutes from halftime. Barely two minutes after the restart, he completed his treble to effectively put the contest to bed. Croatian defender Mislav Matic also got on the scoresheet for Vardar, while Arsimi’s Ramadani A. grabbed a consolation strike for the hosts.
This result extends Vardar’s fine momentum. Just last week, the Skopje giants squeezed past Makedonija with a narrow 1-0 win at the Tose Proeski National Arena. That came on the back of their thrilling 4-2 victory away at Shkupi.
Vardar now turn their attention to a high-profile home fixture against city rivals Rabotnicki on Sunday, 21 September 2025, at the iconic 33,000-capacity Tose Proeski National Arena.
Mato, who previously featured for Ugandan sides Proline and KCCA, this hat-trick marks another step in a steadily rising career, and a clear signal that he is quickly becoming one of Vardar’s most reliable attacking outlets.
