Ugandan defender Geoffrey Wasswa has completed a switch to Ethiopian Premier League outfit Fasil Kenema SC, signing a two–year contract after parting ways with Ethiopian Coffee.
The 26-year-old, who can operate both at centre-back and in central midfield, had been on the books of Ethiopian Coffee since 2023, joining them as a free agent after running down his contract with Kampala giants KCCA FC.
Wasswa’s career has seen him turn out for several of Uganda’s traditional powerhouses. He came through the ranks at St. Mary’s Kitende, before breaking into the Vipers SC senior team during the 2015/16 season. With the Venoms, he lifted two league titles and a Uganda Cup before moving on in 2020 to SC Villa for a short stint. The following season, he switched to KCCA FC, where he spent two years prior to heading to Ethiopia.
At Ethiopian Coffee, Wasswa established himself as a reliable presence, but the versatile Cranes defender has now opted for a new chapter with Fasil Kenema, also known as Fasil City, a club based in Gondar in the Amhara Region.
The side competes in Ethiopia’s top-flight league and is renowned for its passionate fanbase and competitive edge. Wasswa’s addition is expected to strengthen their defensive setup as they chase domestic glory.
