Ugandan forward Nathan Odokonyero marked a dream start to life with Salisbury, firing the decisive strike that sealed a hard-earned 1–0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge in the 2025–26 Enterprise National League clash at Victoria Road.
Thrown into the action just after the hour mark, Odokonyero immediately injected urgency and intent into the contest, replacing Dabre and instantly unsettling the hosts’ backline. Within minutes, he tested the goalkeeper with a sharp effort that forced a fingertip save, signalling his intent to leave a lasting impression.
His moment arrived in the 78th minute. Latching onto a well-worked move sparked by Ollie Morgan, the striker struck decisively to register his first goal on debut, an emphatic finish that ultimately separated the sides and delivered maximum points for the travelling Whites.

The hosts’ task had already been complicated before the break when Stan Leech was dismissed on the brink of half-time, leaving Dagenham & Redbridge to battle the remainder of the contest with ten men.
Odokonyero’s arrival at Salisbury came earlier this month during the January transfer window, completing a permanent switch from Worthing for an undisclosed fee.
The forward’s journey through English football has seen him develop across several clubs and levels. He previously featured in youth setups at Brighton & Hove Albion and Lincoln City, before gaining senior experience with Bognor Regis Town.
His steady rise continued through spells at Ebbsfleet United and Tonbridge Angels, culminating in his most recent stint with Worthing.
