Entebbe UPPC finally snapped their frustrating run of results in dramatic fashion, edging past relegation-threatened Buhimba United Saints 2-1 with a stoppage-time winner at Royals Park, Butema on Thursday.
Coming into the contest, Abdallah Mubiru’s side had endured a difficult stretch, going five league matches without tasting victory.
Losses to SC Villa and Kitara, coupled with stalemates against Lugazi, NEC, and URA FC, had stalled their momentum and piled pressure on the team.
But against a struggling Buhimba outfit, the Painters found a way back, though not without a fight.
The hosts struck first, with Anwar Ntege breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute to give Buhimba a surprise advantage. UPPC, however, responded just before the break, as Ambrose Kigozi leveled matters four minutes ahead of halftime to restore parity.
Fighting to the very end

With the game seemingly headed for a draw, late drama unfolded deep into added time. Issa Mubiru turned provider and match-winner in one moment, his deflected cross sneaking into the net to complete a comeback that had looked unlikely for long spells.
Buhimba’s woes were compounded moments later when David Kasaija was sent off just before the final whistle, capping a miserable end to the evening for the hosts.
The result lifts Entebbe UPPC to 40 points and into fifth place, while Buhimba United Saints remain stuck in the relegation zone, second from bottom with just 15 points.
