URA FC have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Marvin Nyanzi on a two-year contract after his exit from Uganda Premier League giants Express FC pending unveiling, Footy-Uganda understands.
The revenue collectors have moved swiftly to secure the services of the creative midfielder as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new Uganda Premier League campaign, with Nyanzi becoming one of the club’s latest additions during the transfer window.
The 22-year-old leaves Express after a season in which he featured in 14 league matches, finding the back of the net once while producing several eye-catching displays that highlighted his creativity, technical ability and attacking flair.
Nyanzi arrives at URA carrying valuable top-flight experience despite his young age. Before his spell at Wankulukuku, he turned out for Kitara FC and Wakiso Giants, having first announced himself on the domestic scene with Kajjansi United before further enhancing his reputation while representing Buddu in the prestigious Masaza Cup.
His move to Nakawa also marks a reunion with head coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera, who worked closely with the midfielder during the latter stages of last season at Express. The familiarity between player and coach is expected to ease Nyanzi’s transition into his new surroundings.
URA have been active in the market as they look to build a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the table. Nyanzi joins fellow new arrivals Muhammed Kyeyune, who signed from Entebbe UPPC, and former Express winger Elvis Ssekajugo as the Tax Collectors continue strengthening key areas of the team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
