KCCA FC have officially confirmed the return of their former captain and shot-stopper Charles Lukwago, marking a high-profile homecoming for the experienced goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer window.

The announcement was made on the club’s website on Sunday, September 7, 2025, with the statement reading in part:

β€œKCCA announces the re-signing of former captain and celebrated captain.”

Lukwago rejoins the Kasasiro Boys as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with South African side Venda FC. The 31-year-old has signed a fresh two-year deal that will keep him at Lugogo until 2027.

The Ugandan international first arrived at KCCA in 2016, quickly cementing himself as one of the most reliable keepers in the Uganda Premier League. During his initial spell, he thrived under then-head coach Mike Mutebi, lifting two league titles in 2017 and 2019, alongside back-to-back Uganda Cup triumphs in 2017 and 2018.

Lukwago departed for professional football abroad in 2021, but his return marks a major boost for KCCA as they seek to reclaim domestic dominance. The move also represents a sentimental reunion between the club and one of its most decorated leaders.
