Ugandan sensation John Paul Dembe continued his blistering rise in Sweden after netting a stunning hattrick in BK Häcken’s 8-0 demolition of Nassjo in the Swedish Cup on Thursday.
The youngster, who joined Häcken at the 2022/23 season, showed his ruthless edge in front of goal as he tore apart Nassjo’s backline with pace, movement and clinical finishing. His treble capped off a dominant display by the Gothenburg-based side, who progressed with ease.

Dembe’s latest heroics take his tally to six goals in just seven competitive appearances for Häcken. Remarkably, those strikes have come across three major competitions, the Europa League quarterfinals, the Europa Conference League qualifiers, and now the Swedish Cup, underlining his versatility and maturity on the big stage.
At only 20, the forward is fast emerging as one of Uganda’s most promising exports to Europe. His consistency has already caught the attention of scouts and pundits, who view him as a player destined for greater heights if he maintains his form.
For Häcken, Dembe’s scoring spree couldn’t have come at a better time as they chase silverware both domestically and on the continental stage.
