Kitara FC will be looking to keep their cup ambitions alive when they host fellow Uganda Premier League side Entebbe UPPC FC at the Royal Park in Butema on Tuesday in the Round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The contest is among five allβtop-flight encounters at this stage of the competition and stands out as one of the headline fixtures of the round.
Kitara head into the tie with the possibility of handing debuts to new arrivals Muhammad Shaban and Kabon Living as they strengthen their squad for the cup run. However, defender Edson Agondze will not be available after being cup-tied, having already featured for Buhimba United Saints earlier in the tournament.
βWe face a very good team with a strong technical bench and players but playing at home gives the advantage,β Kitara coach Wasswa Bbosa stated.

Tuesdayβs encounter also serves as a preview of another meeting between the two sides, with Kitara and Entebbe UPPC scheduled to face off again in the Uganda Premier League return leg on March 3.
βFor now, the focus is on the Uganda Cup and not the league game,β said Entebbe UPPC first team coach Livingstone Mbabazi.
The visitors are also expected to parade fresh faces, including recent recruit Samuel Nsubuga, who joined the Printers during the current transfer window.
Both sides progressed to this stage through narrow victories. Entebbe UPPC required a solitary strike from Fazil Tumwine to eliminate Ombachi Pride FC of Koboko, while Kitara edged Obule Earth Quake FC 1-0 thanks to John Bosco Byaruhangaβs decisive goal.
In their earlier Uganda Premier League meeting this season at Bugonga Fisheries Playground, Entebbe UPPC, under the guidance of Abdullah Mubiru, claimed a slim 1-0 victory over Kitara. The upcoming cup showdown is therefore expected to produce another fiercely contested affair.

Despite that recent league defeat, Kitara boast an impressive record over Entebbe UPPC in the Uganda Cup. They have won both previous encounters in the competition, triumphing 2-0 in 2024 when the visitors were still known as Gaddafi FC and securing a 2-1 victory in 2025.
Both teams will also be boosted by the return of their captains. Kitara skipper Jasper Aheebwa and Entebbe UPPCβs Mustafa Mujjuzi are back in contention after serving suspensions that ruled them out of their respective last league matches.
