Vipers SC delivered a ruthless statement of intent on Friday evening, dismantling Buhimba United 4-0 at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, to reinforce their position at the summit of the Uganda Premier League.
The league leaders wasted no time asserting their authority. Barely had the dust settled when skipper Milton Karisa struck inside the opening minute, glancing home a sumptuous delivery from Chukwuma Odili to hand the hosts an immediate advantage and set the tone for a one-sided contest.
Vipers’ early dominance soon paid further dividends. Abdulkarim Watambala, in blistering form this season, ghosted into space to nod in another inviting Odili cross from the left, doubling the advantage as Buhimba struggled to cope with the hosts’ tempo and movement.
Karisa was not done tormenting the visitors. Six minutes before the break, the winger arrived in style to smash in his second of the night, volleying powerfully past the helpless goalkeeper after a clever set-up from Usama Arafat to put the contest virtually beyond reach before half-time.

Any faint hopes of a Buhimba response were extinguished shortly after the restart. Abubakali Walusimbi pounced on a loose ball in midfield, surged forward and bent a fine effort into the corner, capping off a dominant Vipers display and leaving the visitors’ defence in disarray.
The emphatic victory keeps Vipers perched comfortably on top of the standings with 36 points from 14 matches, underlining their title credentials as the season gathers pace. For Buhimba United, the heavy defeat compounds a difficult campaign, with the side remaining 12th on the table on 13 points from 15 outings.
