Vipers SC have revealed a formidable 24-player squad for the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, signalling their intent to mount a serious challenge for regional supremacy when the competition gets underway in Rwanda later this week.
Fresh from retaining the Uganda Premier League crown, the Venoms will travel with an enviable blend of established stars, experienced campaigners and exciting new acquisitions as French tactician Denis Lavagne prepares for his first competitive regional assignment with the club.
Leading the list of headline inclusions are Uganda Cranes playmaker Farouk Miya, Congolese striker Cesar Manzoki and midfield maestro Joel Sserunjogi, all of whom recently joined the reigning league champions and are poised to make their competitive bows in Vipers colours.
The travelling contingent also features defender Nicholas Mwere and Gabonese goalkeeper Loyce Mbaba, further underlining the quality recruited by the Kitende-based side during an ambitious transfer window.
The CECAFA Kagame Cup will run from July 24 to August 7 in Rwanda, bringing together some of the strongest clubs from East and Central Africa in a battle for regional honours.

Vipers have been handed a demanding assignment after being pooled in Group A alongside hosts and Rwandan champions APR FC, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia and Djibouti representatives FC Garde Rรฉpublicaine, with every fixture expected to provide a stern examination of their credentials.
Despite travelling with a strong squad, Lavagne will have to cope without midfielder Enock Ssebaggala and left-back Enock Luyima. Both players remain sidelined through injury and are continuing their rehabilitation under the club’s medical department. Forward Kenneth Kimera is also absent from the travelling delegation.
