Ugandan footballers and players of Ugandan heritage continued to make their mark across various leagues around the world over the weekend, with several enjoying productive outings for their respective clubs.
From Europe to Africa and North America, the Ugandan contingent was well represented, with goals, assists and substantial playing time highlighting another eventful round of fixtures.
Czech Republic
Aziz Kayondo was handed the full 90 minutes for Slovan Liberec on Saturday as they edged Zlin 1-0 in a closely fought encounter.
John Paul Dembe, meanwhile, was introduced late in Sigma Olomouc’s clash with FK Pardubice on Sunday. The Ugandan forward entered the fray in the 77th minute as Sigma secured a 2-1 victory.
Denmark
James Bogere delivered one of the weekend’s most eye-catching performances, scoring for AGF Aarhus in their 2-2 draw with Odense.
The Ugandan attacker spent 72 minutes on the pitch before departing, having already made his mark by finding the net in a game that ultimately ended all square.

Championship
Ryan Kavuma-McQueen continued his impressive development with Portsmouth, scoring in their 3-1 victory over Lincoln City on Saturday.
The 17-year-old Chelsea loanee was once again involved in the attacking department, adding another goal to what has been an encouraging spell of senior football.
Divine Mukasa also featured, coming off the bench in the 70th minute for West Ham United during their 2-1 loss to Charlton Athletic.
League One
Toby Sibbick went the distance for Burton Albion, completing all 90 minutes as they overcame Leicester City 2-1. The defender played his part in a winning performance as Burton claimed maximum points.

Scotland
Allan Oyirwoth was on the pitch for the entirety of Dunfermline Athletic’s meeting with Livingston but ended the afternoon on the losing side. Dunfermline were beaten 2-0.
USA
USL Championship
Edward Kizza was among the decisive contributors for Indy Eleven, setting up a goal during their 2-1 victory over Louisville City on Saturday. The Ugandan forward featured for 68 minutes.
Bobosi Byaruhanga, meanwhile, was introduced in the 72nd minute for Oakland Roots as they secured a slender 1-0 win against San Antonio.
The midfielder was later cautioned in the dying moments of the contest, receiving a yellow card in the 97th minute.
Tanzania
Hassan Mubiru featured for Azam as they battled to a 2-1 victory over Pamba on Sunday. The Ugandan was involved as Azam successfully negotiated a tight encounter to collect all three points.
South Africa
Veteran Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Denis Onyango was named among the substitutes for Mamelodi Sundowns in their MTN8 Cup meeting with Golden Arrows.
Sundowns, however, suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat, with Onyango remaining on the bench throughout the encounter.

Travis Mutyaba started for CS Sfaxien and played 67 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Stade Tunisien on Saturday.
His fellow Ugandan and teammate Hakim Mutebi did not feature, remaining an unused substitute for the duration of the match.
Egypt
Kenneth Semakula put in a full shift for Al Ittihad Alexandria on Friday, helping them hold Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek to a goalless draw.
Joachim Ojera also saw action on Saturday, coming on for the final 16 minutes of Arab Contractors’ 1-0 defeat to El Gaish.
Joseph Ochaya was named among the substitutes for Arab Contractors but did not get onto the pitch.
