Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho has become the subject of growing transfer interest from Kenyan heavyweights Gor Mahia and Tusker FC as both clubs seek to bolster their squads ahead of next season’s continental assignments, Footy-Uganda can report.
Footy-Uganda understands that the experienced midfielder is being closely monitored by the two Kenyan sides, with Singida Black Stars reportedly willing to listen to offers despite Aucho still having a year left on his current contract.
The interest comes at a crucial time for both clubs. Gor Mahia are preparing for a CAF Champions League campaign, while Tusker FC will fly Kenya’s flag in the CAF Confederation Cup. With the demands of continental football expected to test squad depth and experience, both teams have identified Aucho as a player capable of adding leadership and stability in midfield.
A move back to Kenya would not be unfamiliar territory for the veteran midfielder. Aucho previously turned out for both Gor Mahia and Tusker FC, establishing himself as one of the most respected foreign players to feature in the Kenyan top flight.

His most memorable spell came with Gor Mahia, where he played a key role in helping the club secure the Kenyan Premier League title in 2015. His reputation has remained intact ever since, making him an attractive option for clubs chasing success on multiple fronts.
Aucho arrives on the back of another successful chapter in his career after helping Singida Black Stars lift the CECAFA Kagame Cup. His wealth of experience at both club and international level is viewed as a major asset, particularly for teams preparing for the rigours of African competition.
The midfielder has been a mainstay of the Uganda Cranes for years and currently captains the national team, underlining his standing as one of the country’s most influential footballers.
Over the course of a career spanning more than a decade, Aucho has represented a number of clubs across East and Southern Africa, including Jinja Municipal Council FC, Simba SC, Young Africans SC, Baroka FC, Gor Mahia and Tusker FC.
Elsewhere, Gor Mahia are also believed to be tracking KCCA FC playmaker Bright Anukani, with reports suggesting the Kenyan giants are expected to table an official offer for the midfielder in the coming days.
