BUL Football Club has once again placed its trust in seasoned tactician Alex Isabirye, appointing him head coach for a third time in a bold attempt to arrest a worrying Uganda Premier League campaign.

The Jinja-based side has endured a difficult start to the season, managing just two victories from 11 matches. A return of four draws and five defeats has left BUL languishing well below expectations, prompting decisive action from the club hierarchy.

That poor run of results ultimately cost Abbey Kikomeko Bogere his job, with the club opting for change before the situation worsened. Twelve days after parting ways with Bogere, BUL confirmed Isabirye’s return, handing him a two-year contract and tasking him with an immediate turnaround.

Isabirye is no stranger to the club’s environment or ambitions. This latest appointment marks his third stint at BUL, with his most successful spell coming during his second tenure, when he masterminded the club’s historic Uganda Cup triumph, a victory that earned BUL a place on the continental stage.

Widely regarded as one of the most experienced coaches in Ugandan football, Isabirye brings with him a wealth of knowledge accumulated across several clubs. His coaching journey has seen him take charge of Nyamityobora, Kyetume, Busoga United, Tooro United, Express, Vipers, URA, Victoria University, and Horsted, among others.

BUL will now hope that familiarity, experience, and past success can combine once more as Isabirye sets about steadying the ship and reigniting their league campaign.
