The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has paid tribute to the four clubs that earned promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, marking the end of an intense and fiercely contested FUFA Big League season.

In a message dated June 8, 2026, FUFA President Moses Magogo congratulated Blacks Power FC, Kataka FC, Kigezi Homeboyz FC and Ntugasaze FC for successfully navigating a demanding campaign to secure places in Uganda’s top-flight division.

Magogo described the season as highly competitive and commended the promoted sides for the resilience and commitment they displayed throughout the journey to the Premier League.

Blacks Power FC capped off an impressive season by clinching the FUFA Big League championship in Lira on Sunday. Their triumph seals an immediate return to the top division, where they will be eager to re-establish themselves among Uganda’s football elite.

For Kataka FC, promotion represents a historic breakthrough. The Mbale-based outfit secured a place in the Uganda Premier League for the first time since the club’s establishment, a landmark achievement that has sparked excitement among their supporters and the wider football fraternity in eastern Uganda.

The list of promoted teams was completed by Kigezi Homeboyz FC and Ntugasaze FC, both of whom earned elevation after producing consistent performances over the course of the season. Their success underscores the growing competitiveness of the country’s second-tier league.

In his communication, Magogo also acknowledged the collective effort behind each club’s achievement. He credited club administrators, players, coaching staffs, sponsors and fans for playing crucial roles in the successful promotion campaigns.

According to the FUFA president, the determination, discipline and unity demonstrated by the four clubs were instrumental in helping them reach the Premier League.

With promotion secured, attention now shifts to preparations for the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season, where Blacks Power, Kataka, Kigezi Homeboyz and Ntugasaze will face the challenge of competing against some of the nation’s most established football clubs as they seek to make their mark on the biggest stage in Ugandan domestic football.
