Vipers SC continued their relentless march toward a historic third consecutive Uganda Premier League crown after producing a dominant display to sweep aside URA FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
The Venoms were in devastating form on Saturday, cruising to an emphatic 3-0 triumph that propelled them to the summit of the league table and underlined their title credentials.
Karim Watambala was the undisputed star of the afternoon, grabbing a brace, while Gusto Mulongo also etched his name onto the scoresheet as Vipers claimed all three points in style.
The visitors wasted no time asserting their authority. Barely a minute into the contest, Watambala reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box and thundered home a fierce effort to hand Vipers an early advantage.

URA struggled to cope with Vipersโ intensity and movement, with the league leaders repeatedly carving out openings. In the 19th minute, Usama Arafat came agonisingly close to extending the lead, his curling strike crashing off the woodwork as Vipers kept URA pinned back.
The pressure eventually told again midway through the half. With 10 minutes remaining before the break, Mulongo doubled the lead, calmly finishing off a well-weighted delivery from Usama to cap a flowing team move.
Vipers were not done yet. Just three minutes later, Watambala delivered the killer blow, bending a sublime effort into the bottom corner to complete his brace and effectively put the contest beyond URAโs reach.

The comprehensive victory lifts Vipers to the top of the standings on 30 points, strengthening their grip on the title race, while URAโs woes continue as they remain deep in the relegation zone in 15th place with just 11 points.
