Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have continued their squad overhaul by confirming the departure of Liberian winger Robin Hney, bringing an end to his brief spell at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Hney arrived at the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign after signing a three-year contract following his move from Albanian outfit Apolonia Fier. Despite arriving with high expectations, the wide attacker now exits the Venoms after just one season as the club reshapes its squad for the challenges of the upcoming campaign.
The Liberian international developed through the ranks of Cece United Football Academy before making a name for himself with Pepper FC and FC Fassell in his homeland, performances that earned him a move to European football with Apolonia Fier before his switch to Uganda.
His exit takes the number of departures at Vipers this transfer window to eight as the reigning league champions continue an extensive rebuilding exercise.

Hney joins defenders Nicholas Wadada, Livingstone Mulondo and Grant Matsiko, goalkeepers Bashir Ssekagya and Alfred Mudekereza, as well as midfielders Frank Katongole and Taddeo Lwanga among the players who have left the Kitende-based club.
Several of those departures came following the expiry of their contracts, with Mudekereza, Wadada, Mulondo, Matsiko and Ssekagya all leaving upon the conclusion of their respective deals.
The remaining players have already secured new destinations. Katongole has completed a move to BUL FC, while experienced midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has signed for Kenyan giants AFC Leopards. Matsiko has joined Entebbe UPPC, and Mulondo is expected to complete a switch to Lugazi FC.
Vipers are now fully focused on assembling a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts during the 2026/27 season. The Venoms will be chasing success in the Uganda Premier League, the Uganda Cup and the CAF Champions League.
Their continental campaign begins next month when they take on Mauritanian champions FC Nouadhibou in the preliminary round, with a place in the next qualifying stage at stake.
