The Uganda Premier League has officially moved the blockbuster clash between BUL FC and KCCA FC to Sunday, following a request from BUL and the Busoga Kingdom.
Originally slated for Saturday, December 6, the fixture has been pushed 24 hours forward to avoid clashing with a major cultural football event taking centre stage in Jinja. On the same day, the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe will host the grand finale of the Busoga Masaza Cup, where Luuka and Kigulu will battle for regional supremacy, a competition that pulls massive crowds across the Busoga sub-region.
With the stadium area set to be fully dedicated to the cultural final, BUL wrote to the league secretariat seeking a change of date, a move backed by official communication from the Minister of Sports in the Obwa Kyabazinga Bwa Busoga.

The UPL Secretariat confirmed receipt of the request, noting that both the club and the Kingdom asked for room to allow fans to attend the prestigious Masaza final without missing out on BUL’s home game:
“Both BUL and the Kingdom requested that the fixture be rescheduled to allow the King’s subjects to attend the finals.”
In response, the league granted the adjustment and released the revised match plan:
“Accordingly, the BUL vs KCCA Matchday 9 fixture has been rescheduled to Sunday, 07 December 2025 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru,” UPL confirmed.
The Sunday kick-off remains set for 3:00 PM, with live coverage on FUFA TV and Sanyuka Prime. A mandatory water break will also be observed due to expected high temperatures.
While BUL vs KCCA shifts to Sunday, the other Saturday fixture, Maroons hosting SC Villa in Luzira, will proceed as originally scheduled.
