Broadcast Information

Fans across Africa and beyond can catch the game live through multiple platforms:

FIFA+ – Streaming worldwide;

SABC Sport – Live television coverage across Southern Africa;

FUFA TV & Supersport Channel 227– Live broadcast for East African audiences.

Uganda’s fight for survival

The Cranes’ resurgence under coach Paul Put has brought renewed belief to Ugandan football, but their World Cup dream now hangs by a thread. Sitting second in Group G with 18 points, four adrift of leaders Algeria, who have already qualified. Uganda must pull off a famous result away from home to stay in contention for a historic qualification.

Yet, this trip to Algiers is different. Uganda were humbled 2–1 by Algeria in the reverse fixture in Kampala last year, despite a spirited first-half display. Houssem Aouar and Said Benrahma punished defensive lapses to turn the tide after Travis Mutyaba‘s early opener.

Algeria vs Uganda Prediction: Cranes chase slim World Cup dream

Algeria’s quest for perfection

For Vladimir Petković’s Algeria, this match represents a chance to perfect Group G and head to the global showpiece in style. The Desert Foxes have been in commanding form, combining experience and flair in equal measure.

Led by captain Riyad Mahrez, forward Mohamed Amoura and the likes of Aouar, Benhrama, Algeria have scored freely throughout the campaign. Their recent 3–0 victory over Somalia showcased their attacking variety and defensive assurance, hallmarks of Petković’s philosophy.

CAF clarification keeps Uganda’s World Cup dream alive, but the odds are slim

Possible starting lineups:

Algeria: Guendouz, Belhagli, Mandi, Bensebaini, Hadjam, Boudaoui, Bentaleb, Chaibi, Mahrez, Bounedjah, Amoura.

Uganda: Magoola, Sibbick, Capradossi, Obita, Kayondo, Semakula, Aucho; Okello, Ssemugabi, Mato, Mukwal.

Denis Onyango: ‘I remain a pillar for the Uganda Cranes’

What’s at stake

For Uganda, this is a do-or-die mission. Three points in Algiers would keep their World Cup dream alive and send shockwaves through the continent. Anything less will see their hopes fade heading into the final Matchday.

For Algeria, victory would confirm their dominance in Group G and cement pride. With their stars in form and home advantage behind them, the Desert Foxes are favourites, but the Cranes have proven they thrive as underdogs.
