Ugandan giants SC Villa have bolstered their attacking options with the acquisition of highly–rated forward Jerome Otim from the Buweekula Ssaza team. The youngster has put pen to paper on a three–year deal with the 17–time Uganda Premier League champions.
Otim, who has been one of the standout performers in this year’s Masaza Cup, expressed his ambition upon sealing the move to the Jogoos.
“I want to win trophies and be part of the history of the great club. This is one of the biggest clubs in Uganda and Africa. It’s a privilege for me to join the Jogoos. I am here to work hard and make the Jogoos faithful love the club even more,” he stated.

The forward’s football journey began at Lira Sports Academy, after which he progressed into the KCCA FC Junior Team. He later featured for Proline’s senior side at the regional level before catching the eye with his decisive contributions to Buweekula in the Masaza Cup, where his goals and creativity helped drive the Ssaza team into the knockout stages.
His arrival adds to Villa’s busy transfer window that has already seen the likes of Frank Ssebufu, Ibrahim Kasinde, David Lukwago, and Ali Bayo join the club. In addition, the Jogoos have tied down their talisman Patrick Jonah Kakande to a fresh contract, underlining their intent to mount a strong challenge this season.
SC Villa’s new–look squad will be put to the test immediately, as they kick off their 2025/26 campaign with a Kampala Derby showdown against KCCA FC at the renovated Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, on Saturday, October 4.
