BK Hacken saw their unbeaten run come to an abrupt halt on Thursday night, falling 2–1 to RC Strasbourg in a tense UEFA Conference League clash at Gamla Ullevi, despite a sharp finish from Uganda’s John Paul Dembe.
Strasbourg stamped their authority early, controlling possession and forcing Hacken onto the back foot. Their pressure finally broke through midway into the opening half when Martial Godo whipped in a crafty delivery that met Julio Enciso’s well-timed run. The Paraguayan guided a glancing header into the far corner, leaving the home crowd momentarily silenced.

Hacken tried to regroup, but the French visitors struck again shortly after the interval. Godo found himself in the right place at the right moment during a chaotic scramble inside the box, stabbing in Strasbourg’s second to tighten their grip on the match.
The moment that lifted the stadium came almost instantly at the other end. A lapse from defender Mike Penders gifted Dembe a rare opening, and the Cranes striker reacted with lightning speed, beating the goalkeeper to the bouncing ball and calmly rolling it into an empty net. It was a poacher’s finish and a deserved reward for his relentless pressing.
With renewed energy, Hacken pushed for parity. Mikkel Rygaard came closest with a curling attempt that drifted just over the top corner, but Strasbourg held firm until the final whistle.
