Vipers SC put on a polished, ruthless performance on Wednesday as they brushed aside Express FC 3-0 in a Uganda Premier League encounter played at the vibrant Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
Goals from Enock Ssebagala, Allan Okello, and Isaac Ogwang sealed a dominant outing for the reigning champions, who never looked troubled once they found their rhythm.
Express started the afternoon with purpose, throwing bodies forward in search of an early breakthrough. However, their ambition lacked the required sharpness. Mikidadi Ssenyonga came closest to rewarding their early pressure with a beautifully curled free kick in the 9th minute, but Vipersโ goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza reacted brilliantly, stretching full length to palm the effort away.

The Red Eagles continued to threaten sporadically, with Muhammad Ssenoga heading just wide from a John Asiimwe cross moments later. But that brief spell of promise faded as Vipers settled into control, repeatedly prying open the home defence. Usama Arafat forced a strong save from Ali Mwirusi around the half-hour mark, signalling the championsโ growing intent.
Their pressure finally told in the 38th minute. Ssebagala pounced from close range after Express disastrously failed to clear their lines, handing Vipers a deserved lead. The hosts nearly levelled on the stroke of halftime when Richard Basangwa struck the crossbar with a fierce volley, but luck favoured the Venoms.
After the break, Vipers shifted into a higher gear. Okello doubled the advantage in the 66th minute, racing onto a sublime defence-splitting pass from Usama before calmly slotting past Mwirusi. Barely three minutes later, the match was beyond doubt, Ogwang smashed home from close range after Okello turned provider, capping a sensational attacking move.

The emphatic victory pushes Vipers to 4th place with a perfect haul of 12 points from their four matches. Express, meanwhile, remain stuck in 10th on nine points from eight fixtures, with questions mounting about their consistency.
For Vipers, this was a statement win, confident, clinical, and a reminder of why they remain one of the leagueโs most feared sides.
