Farouk Miya’s football odyssey reads like a tale of sheer persistence and a hunger to rise above every ceiling placed before him. From his formative days dazzling on Ugandan soil to battling for minutes across Europe’s competitive leagues, Miya has carved out a reputation as a forward blessed with intelligence, courage, and a knack for delivering when it matters most.

Since arriving at Greek Super League 2 outfit GS Ilioupolis in August 2025, the Ugandan playmaker has wasted no time reminding the football world of his quality. With four goals in just 10 outings, he has quickly cemented his place as one of the club’s most influential players, injecting creativity and decisive finishing into their frontline.

Miya’s journey has been anything but linear. He has donned the colours of Rizespor and Konyaspor in Turkey, navigated the tough Ukrainian Premier League with PFC Lviv, graced the Croatian topflight at HNK Gorica, tested himself in Azerbaijan with Sabail FK, and taken on the Belgian Pro League with Standard Liège and Royal Mouscron.
