Vipers SC return to Uganda Premier League action on Tuesday night with one clear objective, keep the unbeaten streak alive and maintain the pressure at the summit.
Under the floodlights of St. Maryโs Stadium, Kitende, the Venoms host Mbarara City FC as the league resumes following a short pause caused by Ugandaโs involvement at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Few teams have carried themselves with greater authority this campaign. Vipers have been ruthless and composed in equal measure, piecing together seven wins and three draws from their first 10 outings to remain undefeated.
That run has them firmly locked into the title race, sitting second on 24 points, just one shy of leaders KCCA FC, who have already played an extra match and face Police FC earlier on Tuesday.

The visitors arrive with a different mission. Mbarara City make the trip to Kitende placed 13th on the table with 10 points from 11 matches. While not yet dragged into the relegation conversation, the Ankole Lions know results are needed to build breathing space and steer their season in a positive direction.
Both sides signed off before the break on a high note. Vipers showed their fighting edge in a hard-earned 2โ1 win away to Lugazi FC, with Usama Arafat and Yunus Sentamu delivering the goals. Mbarara City, meanwhile, claimed a confidence-boosting victory of their own, edging URA FC 1โ0 thanks to a clinical strike from Henry Kitegenyi.
On paper, history tilts heavily in favour of the hosts. In 17 previous meetings across all competitions, Vipers have emerged victorious on 10 occasions, drawing five and losing just twice.
Last season only reinforced that trend, as the Venoms completed a league double, Allan Okelloโs late winner sealing a home success before his brace, alongside a Sentamu goal, powered a 3โ1 win in Kakyeka.

As kickoff approaches, the stakes are well defined. Vipers are chasing rhythm, momentum and sustained pressure on the league leaders in their title pursuit. Mbarara City, on the other hand, arrive eager to defy the odds, disrupt the narrative and prove they can compete on one of the leagueโs toughest stages.
