Allan Okello’s time in the famous red and black of Vipers SC has come to an end, closing a spell that will be remembered for both its triumphs and its deep personal meaning.
The Ugandan playmaker departs St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, after two and a half eventful years that saw him play a central role in one of the most successful periods in Vipers SC’s recent history. During his stay, Okello helped drive the Venoms to a historic domestic double, lifting both the Uganda Premier League crown and the Uganda Cup, a feat that etched his name into the club’s modern folklore.
His exit is laced with emotion, and the midfielder made sure to leave behind words that reflected just how special the journey had been.
“I take with me wonderful and unforgettable memories,” Okello emotionally revealed in a farewell message.
Looking ahead to the next phase of his career, the former KCCA star struck a tone of gratitude mixed with optimism.
“I bid farewell very pleased with this chapter of my career and I am also excited for the next to begin. Thank you all and the very best of luck,” he added.
Okello’s story at Kitende was never a simple one. He arrived at the club carrying the burden of injury, but instead of doubt, he was met with patience and belief. Slowly and steadily, he was restored to full fitness, and once back on the pitch, he rediscovered his magic, dictating play, unlocking defences and reminding Ugandan football of his rare creative touch.

That support left a lasting impression on him, and as he heads off to new horizons, he made sure to acknowledge those who stood by him from day one.
“A heartfelt thanks to the club president, Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, the management, coaches, my teammates and all the venoms,” he concluded.
For Vipers SC, Okello leaves not just as a departing player, but as a key figure from a golden chapter in the club’s journey. For Okello himself, it is the end of one story and the beginning of another, carrying with him memories from Kitende that, as he says, will never be forgotten.
