FUFA has officially handed Kitara FC a walkover victory after ruling that Vipers SC failed to fulfil their Uganda Premier League fixture originally slated for October 4 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
In its decision, the FUFA Disciplinary Panel held that the Venoms were in violation of Article 16 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code after the club did not show up for the encounter.
Vipers’ absence stemmed from their ongoing boycott of league fixtures in protest of the newly introduced competition format, which has since been abandoned.
With Vipers failing to honour the tie, the governing body moved to determine the outcome administratively, declaring the game forfeited in favour of Kitara. Despite the ruling, the panel clarified that no further punishment would be applied beyond the standard consequences attached to forfeiting a match.
This means Vipers will not suffer any extra sporting penalties such as additional point deductions or goal sanctions over and above those already provided for under the regulations.

The decision closes a matter that had lingered for months. In correspondence sent to FUFA in December, Vipers had expressed frustration over what they described as administrative delays in resolving the issue.
The club argued that the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the fixture had skewed the league standings and painted an inaccurate picture of their points-per-game return.
Furthermore, the reigning champions had previously urged the federation to refrain from determining outcomes away from the pitch. They called on FUFA to guarantee that no forfeiture or walkover verdicts would be applied, maintaining that league points should be decided solely through matches played rather than through boardroom rulings.
