Khalid Aucho, captain of the Uganda national football team, has broken his silence following a suspension issued by his Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars.

The club confirmed on Friday, February 27, 2026, that the experienced midfielder had been suspended over allegations of misconduct and failure to report for club duties. The announcement came through an official statement from Singida Black Stars as the club continues to review the matter.

Despite the accusations, Aucho has strongly defended his reputation, insisting that he has maintained professionalism throughout his playing career.

“I have always carried myself with professionalism throughout my career, representing every club with respect and discipline,” Aucho partly wrote in a statement on his social media outlets.

The Ugandan international, who previously played for Young Africans S.C. in Tanzania, emphasized that discipline has always been central to his career.

“In all my years in football, I have never been involved in any case of indiscipline because I understand the responsibility that comes with being a professional player. To my beloved fans who have always stood by me, this situation will come to pass. Thank you for your continued support,” he added.

Aucho has been an influential figure for Singida Black Stars since arriving at the beginning of the season, playing a significant role in the club’s historic qualification to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time.

Meanwhile, the club has also taken disciplinary action against goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who has been handed a three-month suspension as investigations continue into alleged match-fixing within the team.

The situation remains under review as the club carries out further inquiries into the matter.
