In a bid to re-energize their defensive lines, 2023/24 Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC have completed the capture and signing of versatile defender Muyomba Henry Musisi from arch-rivals Mbarara City FC.

The defender, who is also comfortable playing at center-back and as right-back, penned down a two-year employment contract with the Royals.

Musisi was quick to express delight on joining Kitara, who finished seventh in the Uganda Premier League last season.

“Joining Kitara was an easy decision for me,” he told the club media channels. The club has a unique and passionate fanbase that truly loves the game. I’m ready to give my best and help the team achieve its goals.”

Meanwhile, Kitara CEO Josh Atugonza expressed full confidence in the new signing.

“I’ve watched Musisi play on several occasions and have no doubt about his abilities,” he added.

Across his two-and-a-half spell at Mbarara City, he played 48 matches across competitions, establishing himself as one of the best players at the club.

Besides Mbarara City FC, Musisi featured for Kireka United in the FUFA Regional League. He also represented Bunyoro Province in the FUFA Drum tournament.
