Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC return to the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on a mission to secure maximum points when they host long-time rivals Express FC in a high-stakes Kampala derby.
The Kasasiro Boys head into the clash eager to maintain pressure on table leaders Vipers SC, knowing that any slip could derail their renewed title pursuit.
KCCA arrive in encouraging form, having pieced together three consecutive victories that have breathed fresh life into their championship ambitions. Their latest outing saw them edge Police FC 2-1, a result that further strengthened belief within the squad as the season enters a decisive phase.

Express, meanwhile, also come into the encounter with a measure of confidence after holding fellow rivals SC Villa to a goalless stalemate at the FUFA Stadium in Kadiba.
Despite their struggles to convert performances into wins, the Red Eagles have shown resilience in recent weeks.
Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera’s men will likely start as favourites, particularly after claiming victory in the first meeting between the two sides earlier in the campaign. Even so, the encounter promises to be anything but straightforward.
Express possess several players capable of turning a match on its head. Marvin Nyanzi and Kenneth Kimera remain key attacking threats that KCCA must contain, while the Red Eagles could hand a debut to former KCCA midfield talent Gift Ali, adding an intriguing subplot to the fixture.
While Express have managed only one victory in their last ten league matches, their recent run has at least brought some stability, with the side going unbeaten in their last five outings (D5).

Historically, the Lugogo venue has not been an easy hunting ground for KCCA when Express come to town. The Red Eagles have triumphed in their last two visits to the stadium and have suffered just one defeat in their previous five trips there (D2, L1, W2).
With pride, history and crucial league points on the line, Wednesday’s encounter promises to deliver another gripping chapter in one of Ugandan football’s most storied rivalries.
