KCCA FC have stepped up their pursuit of experienced midfielder Jeromy Kirya, with negotiations between the two parties understood to be at an advanced stage ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign.
Sources close to the developments have told Footy-Uganda that the Lugogo-based club has already held productive discussions with the midfielder as they look to bolster their squad during the ongoing transfer window.
Despite KCCA’s strong interest, they are not alone in the chase. Reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC are keeping close tabs on Kirya’s situation, while Kitara FC and NEC FC are also monitoring developments as they weigh up possible moves for the versatile midfielder.
Kirya became one of the league’s hottest free agents after parting ways with BUL FC, where he was among ten players released following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

The midfielder enjoyed another solid campaign for the Eastern Giants, making 22 league appearances and contributing four goals from midfield. His performances once again highlighted the qualities that have made him one of the division’s most dependable players in recent years.
Comfortable in both central and attacking midfield roles, Kirya has built a reputation for his composure in possession, impressive work ethic, and technical quality. His ability to dictate play, regain possession, drive the team forward, create scoring opportunities, and contribute goals has made him one of the most attractive options available on the market.
Over the last four seasons, the soft-spoken midfielder has consistently delivered high-level performances, earning praise for both his leadership and reliability in the heart of midfield.
KCCA’s interest comes at a time when the club is expected to reshape its midfield. Joel Sserunjogi is reportedly on his way to Vipers SC, Brian Ijara is set for a move to Europe, while Bright Anukani continues to attract serious interest from Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.
With those departures either confirmed or increasingly likely, Kirya is viewed as an ideal addition capable of filling a crucial role as KCCA prepare for the new season.
The Kasasiro Boys finished runners-up in the Uganda Premier League last season before their Stanbic Uganda Cup campaign ended in the quarterfinals. Having now gone seven years without lifting a major trophy, KCCA are expected to be active in the transfer market as they aim to assemble a squad capable of ending that drought in the 2026/27 season.
